Here’s the matching necklace. It is not anything what I imagined it would be. But I like it.

Today is my first day of summer. Here is my first summer project, complete.

I picked up a few bags of jewel colored seashells from a yard sale this morning. Then  I used a sturdy sewing pin to poke holes in the tops of each shell. I glued two shells together to make each shell bead.

First I made two pair of earrings. I’m working now on a butterfly necklace to match.

This is an easy baby project that I worked on today. It was the first time I tried something like this. I know that many mothers like having a pacifier keeper so the pacifier doesn’t fall to the ground. Hopefully, my sister will like this one made from 70% acrylic, 25% new wool, and 5% polyamid.  Wash in cool water and air dry.

I went to visit some friends in the Tri-Cities. They brought me to a yarn store called Sheep’s Clothing. I found some steals on yarn!  Look at this skein I got for two dollars.

So….for my next little embroidery machine projects I would like to try making a mug rug. Basically, it looks like a glorified coaster with room for a little treat, like cookies with your cocoa, etc. There are many artistic examples online. I will be sharing some of those.

I think this is a great way to get started using my embroidery machine because they are small projects that can be done quickly. If the embroidery turns out nice, it can be incorporated into the mug rug. If it doesn’t work, I have only lost one square, not many, as I would for a quilt.

The largest I can embroider with my machine is a 4 inch square. So the artwork seems like a good size for this little project. More to come.

Almost done!

So, we found out that out is a boy!  My sister likes shades of gray, red, and orange for the nursery.  Here’s my next gift.  I think I’m about one third finished.

Here’s the baby bib before washing. Next, I plan to make a matching burp cloth.
