I went to visit my friend, Eye Candy Studio, in Walla Walla, Washington. (Don’t you just love how that city sounds?) We had a great time eating southern comfort food, gardening, going to a yarn store, and browsing a crafter’s favorite–JoAnn Fabrics.
I picked up my first grown-up pair of knitting needles and a skein of Red Heart yarn. The colorway is called Woodsy, if you’re curious. I adore the colors in it. My friend taught me how to knit. Well, I started the learning process. But as you can see from the picture, I still need a bit of practice.
I’m going to go searching on Expert Village to see if I can find a good DIY video. If you know of one, please comment below so I can watch it. I need all the help I can get.
Also, when I was in Walla, Walla, I picked up some fabric from a fellow crafter on FreeCycle. I really appreciate it! Thanks, Cindy! I’m going to use it to make my Wisteria Wedding Quilt for my brother. (I will post more about that later!)

Shauna
PS: Mom did try to teach me as a kid. It just didn’t stick. You were a good Mom. No worries.

The vides have been very helpful for me and there is a great forum where you can ask about anything.
Seriously!? Your first attempt at knitting? I can’t believe I never taught you. I feel like such a negligent mother. Thank goodness for friends and DIY videos.
No, you tried to teach me, Mom. But I didn’t get far at all. I think I was 9. Maybe I should edit my post to say, “My first attempt at knitting as an adult.”
