How to Make a Tiny Dotee Doll Video

I’ve noticed that more and more people are wanting to learn how to make dotee dolls. Dotee dolls are not my original creation. But, I did want to show how to make them. So, I created my first DIY video. I posted it on You Tube, and I am posting it here for you to watch for yourself.

The dotee dolls I make are smaller than most. Most Dotee dolls are 3-7 inches before adding the tail or loop for hanging. Mine are more like 2-3 inches long. But you could easily adapt my ideas to larger dolls. I hope this video is helpful to you!

Here is the address for Dot’s blog:  http://dotslifeandart.blogspot.com She is the originator of the dotee doll.

  6. Okay, I’ve had too many people mention this. I’m not sure how big dotee dolls are supposed to be. I haven’t gotten my first one yet. I thought I read somewhere that they were between 3 and 7 inches. I do like mine tiny. They are so cute!

  7. I *do* wish you would provide a link to the creator and originator of the Dotee doll-it’s only fair.

  11. Thank you for sharing the instructions. And today, I made my first dotee dolls. Despite my primitive sewing skills, I think they turned out decent.

    It was great fun.

  12. I just wonder… What do you ladies actually DO with your dotee dolls? I’ve only made my 2nd one now and don’t know where to put them or wonder how to display them. Can someone enlighten me?

    Thanks.

  14. Thank you for posting this video. After seeing several swaps for Dotees on Swap-bot, I finally went searching to find out what the heck they are. Now I know. I think this is going to become a new favorite obsession for me! :)

  15. thanks again Lisa for the great video. the other thing that is great about these is they can be a hand sewing project for a make and take or gathering of sewing buddies to do in an afternoon, no machine required!
oh, they look like you can’t just make one either…
